Rachael and I stumbled upon Adorne by Dana jewelry when pulling for a shoot at Sadie Slick. Funky and different, reworked vintage pieces were exactly what we needed to finish off our looks for the shoot! I’m always looking for one of a kind pieces to add to my collection of jewels and that’s exactly what you’ll get with Adorne. Dana’s line offers a variety of designs; simple and deliciate, chunky statement, and everything in between. She has something for every girl, and that is what I believe makes a designer great.

How long have you been designing/making jewelry and at what point did you decide to make it your career?

I’ve been designing jewelry since high school. Scavenging thrift stores, flea markets and consignment shops for killer jewels to redesign into something totally cool and one of a kind. Adorne by Dana was born in 2010 after working the corporate grind for over 15 years. A life changing “now or never” moment and the most supportive, encouraging, loving husband EVER!

What is the inspirations behind your designs?/What inspired your most recent collection?

My inspiration has always been the concept of being yourself. ALWAYS ‘True to yourself’ and what makes you feel good! We’re all one of a kind and Style is about individuality! Unique, Bold and Beautiful. Whether it’s jewelry or clothes, it’s what makes you feel fabulous…. not what society tells us is the latest trend or fad. I will never forget my own junior high moment when the most popular girl wore gauchos and with calf high striped socks and pulled it off flawlessly. (uuuck) I tried the same look, the very next week and was at the very least mortified by the pre-teen brutally honest response…. From their on out, ALWAYS TRUE TO MY OWN STYLE! I absolutely LOVE the power of a woman that is confident and comfortable in her own skin!

How did you decide on Adorne as the name of the brand?

The same concept of being one of a kind, the “power and strength of a woman that is confident with her unique style”. No fear! Being true to yourself and what makes you feel special is to truly to: Adorne yourself!

How would you describe your personal style?

Growing up in the 80’s I always leaned more toward that cool rocker chick vs. the pop New Wave dance culture. Music has always been a huge part of my own personal style and early inspiration of strong women like: Janice Joplin, Joan Jett and Deborah Harry aka Blondie to name a few and of coarse everything Glam Metal! BTW: I LOVE Glamour!!

What’s next for Adorne by Dana?

To continue sharing our brand! Inspiring women to be true to their own unique style. Whether it’s jewelry, stylish accessories, vintage, clothing or even home decor…. Everyday, we strive to bring what’s new and fresh to inspire individuality and style.
