The Minimal Transition
So it begins…
August is the start of the fashion industry’s descent into the fall fashion season. I know, I know, yes in the middle of summer…. It’s the same every year. Transitioning into fall fashion while it’s still the middle of summer can be easier than you think; this layout it’s all about the minimal transition. I love minimal styling, it’s effortless chic feel is simultaneously classic and on trend.
Denim is a staple all year long, so when thinking about the fashion transition always keep in mind your staples. Wardrobe staples are your investment pieces; solid color clothing made of natural fabrics like silk, wool, cotton and linen. Mix and match these fabrics to give your look the essence of the transition while still being comfortable in our current season and weather.
The Long Vest
One thing I love trying the most in a new fashion season is a fresh silhouette or new trending item, like a long vest. For our first look we paired a summer staple, a white cotton dress, with a new fall piece, the long navy vest. The long vest came on strong last fall as a new laying piece. Vests of all kinds are perfect for our warm weather.

The Denim Dress
This denim dress is a great transition piece, you can wear it now as a tank dress with clogs or sandals, and when it cools off layer the dress with a turtle neck to rock one of the fall season’s hottest trends, the 70’s.
Bare Shoulders
Every woman (and girl) needs a great pair of black pants that can be worn at work or play. A great pair of black pants can be paired with any top, including this beautiful bare shoulder Merritt Charles top, and any shoes.

Flared Cropped Jeans
Most of us love denim on denim and it’s time to take it to another level by trying your jeans in a new style. I’m kinda obsessed with cropped flares. I know they’re not for everyone but step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Stylist Tip: Make sure to balance out the flared, cropped jean with a heavier shoe like a wedge, clog or platform.

Black & White
You can NEVER go wrong with black and white! I love to pair a neutral shoe with my black and white clothing, especially in the summer.

Just add a Blazer….
I think that’s enough said.
