Designer Spotlight | Calinana

Why We ♥ Calinana

My favorite thing about Calinana is it’s effortless charm. Every Calinana piece can be layered or worn on it’s own. I love mixing and matching. I have to say I’m a huge fan of serious arm candy and bold rings and Calinana has both.

How long have you been designing/making Jewelry and at what point did you decide to make it your career?

I have been designing jewelry for about 5 years. I always had a passion for jewelry and design, however, only after I completed my PhD I actually had the time to start my own jewelry business.  The primary objective, was to create unique, high quality jewelry with an affordable price. Each piece of Calinana jewelry is handmade in Irvine, CA, using quality materials such as gold filled, sterling silver, semi precious stones, Swarovski crystals, as well as plated metals.

What is the inspirations behind your designs? /What inspired your most recent collection?

What inspired me the most when designing the latest collection is the layering trend: a mix of necklaces in varied shapes and lengths or an arm stacked with bracelets in different colors and textures add a pop of personality to every outfit. Since the company is based in California, we like to incorporate some beach elements and use natural colors in our designs.

Calinana embraces the name California and Nana, which is another name for the herb mint. The idea behind Calinana is bringing a fresh approach to jewelry design. Keeping our jewelry chic but simple enough so anyone can wear our pieces from day to night.
