Patio Space Design with Salvaged Soul

Featuring Lyndi in the City & EP Design House

I love all things that have to do with style, including home decor. A few of my favorite ladies, Salvaged Soul & Lyndi in the City with EP Design House, teamed up to create a beautiful patio space design for Lyndi’s patio. I was inspired to share their collaboration with our readers as I’m always looking for ways to improve my own space. Pulling together a creative collaboration takes a special kind of person(s) who can both come up with ideas and listen to other’s ideas for a shared vision. Once Christa (owner, designer and builder of Salvaged Soul) made the bench Lyndi needed to meet the specific measurements of her space, it was time for the two of them to create the ambiance for the patio. This means accessories…..

The Story Board

A collaboration of any kind needs direction. And when it come to a style collaboration, visual direction is key to making sure everyone knows what the finished result is to resemble. It’s the story/inspiration board that helps everyone more easily see the shared vision.

Designer Tip: A great resource for ideas is pinterest (I’m sure most of you know this by now.). It’s as simple as typing in what you’re looking for. Your inspiration board can then be shared with all parties involved. Don’t want your board public? No problem! One can make any pinterest board private. This can insure that only the necessary collaborators can see the private board.

Once both parties are through the design process, it’s time to move everything in!

Could you imagine the looks these two hot babes got in the Home Depot? It was Home Depot’s lucky day.

Designer Tip: Make a list of everything you need. Don’t try to “remember” what you need or “wing it”. Home Depot can be overwhelming so stick to your list. Plus, who wants to go back because you missed something. MAKE A LIST.

All spaces NEED green! Succulants are great for so many reasons, here are my top 3… 1. They’re hard to kill, 2. They look awesome and 3. We’re in a drought and they don’t need very much water. Salvaged Soul Lyndi in the City Patio Space Design SucculentsSalvaged Soul Lyndi in the City Patio Space Design Succulents at Home Depot 2It’s time to accessorize. Think of accessorizing your home the same way you put on jewelry, you do it last once you’ve pick out the look. Scale and proportion are key when picking our your home accessories. Make sure to measure the space where you need accessories and decide how many items will go in that space (odd numbers are recommended).  This will make budgeting and selection so much easier.

Designer Tip: Measure everything and bring your own tape measure everywhere you need to go. This is just as import as your list. And don’t forget to do your research on bigger purchase items!
