Are you using your Dry Shampoo Correctly?

Dry Shampoo 101

I find more often than not that most women don’t really know how to use their dry shampoo, they really think they just spray it on and voila their done! I wish it were that magical of a product but not quite there yet. This is precisely why so many woman give up on it. When Rachael (the Creative Director of Style Report Magazine) also mentioned that dry shampoo didn’t work on her fine hair, I knew I needed to give to little 101 tutorial on this subject. And yes, it works on FINE hair too! I made sure that the model in this tutorial had fine hair so all my fine hair gals, including Rachael, know this will work on them too.

Here’s what every woman needs to know about dry shampoo.

These are my 3 favorite products for “next-day” or “day 2” hair. I know we’d like to think “messy hair don’t care” but really, we care.

We’ve all woken up with hair that looks like this. The trick is knowing how to make it look fresh and clean with dry shampoo.

Start with Unite 7 Seconds Refresher Dry Shampoo 101 with Salon 74

Make two inch sections, starting in the back on the bottom.Dry Shampoo 101 with Salon 74

Spray each section at the root and up the hair about 2 inches with dry shampoo. Massage the product in to the hair to evenly distribute. FIRST IMPORTANT STEP…. Let dry (about 5 minutes)! Dry Shampoo 101 with Salon 74Dry Shampoo 101 with Salon 74Dry Shampoo 101 with Salon 74

After you’ve sprayed dry shampoo around all your roots (remember to LET IT DRY) section your hair and begin to blow dry. YES BLOW DRY. Take sections starting underneath and blow dry section from root to tip. The dry shampoo cleanses the hair while blow drying gets out all the moisture. This is the step that most woman don’t know about. After you dry shampoo, you still need to blow it out!

I’m a big fan of Unite 7 Sections Glossing.

BIG TIP!!!! Please do not repeat this process for more than 1-2 days in a row as dry shampoo will create a build up on your scalp that makes it hard for new hair to grow pass.
