My Summer Style Inspo
Leather, Denim & Prints
My summer style inspo has begun. Although I love fashion, it’s really styling that I admire in others. Great style is timeless and doesn’t have a price tag. Style has no budget. You can have very little and take what you do have and make it amazing. Just because one can afford expensive clothing or has the ability to purchase an item on every whim has nothing to do with real style.
I’m also not a huge fan of disposable clothing and ‘fast fashion’ retailers. I feel like your essential wardrobe should be an investment in quality (that doesn’t mean expensive) as these are the items that will be worn over and over again.
I LOVE Denim
Who doesn’t love denim? I love denim jackets, skirts, shirts, dresses and of course jeans. I love the little tweaks that come out each season but to be honest classic is always best. Spending money on your favorite denim item is worth every penny you can afford.
Sincerely Jules is one of the top bloggers in the world (I know most of us know that) due to her effortless cool girl style (which I LOVE). She always looks like she just threw something on and it always looks great.
Here is the perfect example of simple styling with a denim shift dress and an army jacket. It’s the way she has put this look together with all the details including the sunglasses, jewelry and the cross body.
STYLIST TIP: When you see a look you like on anyone: famous blogger, trendsetting friend or stanger, ask yourself what you like about the look. It will be easier to “make your own” when you understand why you like the look in the first place.
Florals & Prints
I took me a long time to actually wear prints. But now that I’ve embraced them fully I’m always looking for the “right” prints for me. My personal style is pretty simple but there is something about prints that brings out another side to my style. I love mix prints and printed pants plus anything I can wear with a simple white tee.
I’m a sucker for printed pants. This look is so chic, but fun too. There is still an effortlessness to this look that I gravitate toward. I love the pop of color. An accessory is the perfect place for color and texture.
I have a new obsession with skirts! What I’ve looked for in my new found obsession is what silhouette is going to be the most flattering on my body type. When looking at clothing that should be a question each person asks themselves, “Would this work for my body?” What all three of these different skirts have in common is they all come up to the natural waist (smallest part of your body) and have a shirt tucked in to give an illusion of an hourglass shape, which is flattering on just about everyone.
Summer Leather-Real or Faux
The texture of leather adds an edge to ones overall look. I personally love leather pieces but they are quite an investment, so I personally want to get the most out of any piece I purchase-which is always on sale at the end of the season.
I’m loving all these looks! A leather moto vest over a light weight maxi dress, high-waisted leather shorts, embossed leather mini, and leather pants. Each of these items can be restyled for warm or cold weather and thats why I’m loving them. Leather no longer has a season!
