Most of the time the OCSR team expresses our style point of view from behind the camera. Recently we’ve decided to come out of the background and show our personal style, what we wear, where we shop, and our influences, to give our readers a closer look at the women that bring you OC style. Head Stylist, Katie O’Sullivan has incredible personal style-as you might guess. The funny thing about stylists is often their personal style is much more simple and uncomplicated than one might think. Great style doesn’t have to be complicated, it should be effortless. Stay tuned because you’ll be seeing a lot more of all our personal style.
Why this works in the OC: This red striped off-the-shoulder dress from Swirl Boutique, another great example of how a simple dress can have a big style impact. Style like beauty is the sum of all parts. What I mean by that is ones style is not just one thing. This dress by itself is a great dress but it needs help to become a complete stylish look, and that’s where accessories come into play. Accessories can be a statement or they can just simply be neutral extras that finish a look and let the main item stand out, as exampled. Katie perfectly paired the red dress with neutral accessories including sunglasses, clutch and shoes. This look was more about the dress and Katie picked accessories to show off the dress.
What I love about this dress is where it can take you in the OC… The answer is EVERYWHERE! This dress is great for a 4th of July backyard BBQ, date night, girls night out, lunch with friends, the list is endless. This dress, like most dresses, can take you from day to night and casual to dressy. I love a great dress.
