Clean Bright Bold: How to Rock Bold Color in the New Year

With the New Year comes new opportunity. We all begin with our New Year’s resolutions. If you have not added staying stylish to your list of resolutions, you should. While you always want your style to reflect who you are and how you feel, stepping away from the same-old same-old is very important.

One of the biggest trends for 2014 is BOLD COLOR. I know for a few of you (or more) that this is a bit too much, but trust me it’s not. Adding bright bold color into your look is easy as bright bold lipstick, a bold accessories like shoes or a hand bag. Blouses and tanks are also ways to add in BOLD COLOR.

For our first look we kept it simple by a pop of color on the lips and handbag. Bold color is the perfect compliment to your blue or black jeans and white top.

Blue is a great bold color to start off with, it’s not “too” much for most of us and we all look good in blue! This year is all about the “button up” as seen all over the spring 2014 runways from New York to Paris. We love this beautiful silk blouse from Amanda Uprichard it’s perfect for any one at any age. This was simply paired with white shorts and nude caged peep toe bootie. Simple, perfect and oh so modern-just what we love.

Ladies, again is so simple. I know these amazing high-waisted white pants are not for everyone, but if you can pull these beautiful slacks off, Bravo. Make everyone you pass jealous if you can rock these amazing pants. Teal is also a beautiful color that everyone with any skin type, from fair to dark, can wear.

Chartreuse-one of my personal favorite colors, is also beautiful on all skin types contrary to what you might think. Bold color and leather are a perfect way to add a modern edge to your “night out” look. No matter the season here in the OC, leather and bold color will always make a style statement.

After seeing this dress I’m putting my LBD to bed! Talk about a show stopper, WOW! Now the key to keeping this sexy dress on the side of style is by pairing it with single soles pumps (not platforms), also don’t overdue the make up-a fresh face with a pop of color on the lip is perfect.
