Fall Fashion MUST-Texture & Layers
Is it finally time to attempt some serious layers? I hope so…..
When it comes to fashion and style I must say that fall is my favorite, for one reason and one reason only-LAYERS. Layers simply means more clothing and more styling-I love to pile it on! As you’ve seen me write time and time again the art of layering is a must for so cal woman. From boho babes to modern chic woman on the go, layering is an essential styling skill. If you reside in beautiful southern california you are fully aware of our sneaky weather patters, cool in the morning, warm to hot in the mid day and cool again in the evening. If you don’t have layers you will end up too hot or too cold and I personally don’t like either one of those options.
There are two important tricks to laying (1) Make each layer look good on it’s own-you don’t want to take off your first layer of the day and remove your style with it. (2) Proportion-make sure each layer compliments each other.
We put together 6 layered looks to inspire and challenge you to layer up this fall.
Southern California is one of the few places in the country you can wear shorts year round (lucky us). Light weight cotton layers are perfect for the OC. T-shirts and shorts go hand in hand, we simply added a cashmere scarf, boots and over the knee socks.

We love this Free People jacket! For those of you who don’t wear fur this is a fun alternative. We simply paired this over sized yarn jacket with white skinnies and a chelsea bootie.

We also fell in love with this baby blue over sized MINK PINK jacket. We added a scarf and denim shirt over a simple cotton tank dress for a look that’s cool and sexy.
