How-to | The “Madison” Side Braid with Swell Beauty

“The Madison”

French braiding hair takes practice, practice, practice, but once you’ve got it down there are endless hair possibilities. Swell Beauty has a step by step braided up-do for any summer time occasion. This is perfect for “dirty” hair.

What you’ll need to get started…

Elastic Hair Tie, Bobby Pins, Dry Shampoo & Hair Spray

1.

Begin by  prepping your hair with a little dry shampoo. Spray on roots, let set for about a minute (to absorb excess oil) and brush.

Part your hair on the side. On the large side of the part take three pieces of hair from the front of your hair and separate in your fingers. Begin crossing the right side piece of hair UNDER the middle piece (becoming the new middle piece); cross the left piece of hair UNDER the middle piece. This processes will be repeated while adding small amounts of additional hair on both sides.

Continue crossing the left and right pieces of hair UNDER each middle piece while adding additional hair each time.
