Easy and Effortless Pre-Spring
Spring is right abound the corner, so we put together 6 effortless pre-spring looks that will work on anyone. All these looks are updated classics that work almost all year round. As I say all the time, make the most out of what you have. Learning how to restyle your favorite items will save you money as you invest in timeless pieces that get restyled constantly for a fresh feel. Stylist Tip: One of the easiest ways to update one’s “go-to” looks is with trending accessories.
Denim on Denim
Denim on denim for years was a no no, and a bit of a joke- NOT anymore! Denim on denim has been one of the “go-to” looks for it girls everywhere for the last few years. I’ve been obsessed with newer denim line, McGuire. I’ve personally stocked up on several pieces (as I live in denim) plus (as seen below) we use them in numerous photo shoots. I love the line’s modern details, like the exposed zipper on the flares and the open criss cross styling of the denim shirt (there is a hidden snap so you don’t have to be this “exposed”).
We updated this new classic with one of the hottest trends, all things bandana. Chokers, neck ties, wrap necklaces and bandanas have been huge on both on the street and runways. This is a very inexpensive way to add a cool girl accessory. Wondering where to get a basic bandana? The easiest place is the men’s department at Target.

The Shirt Dress
Shirt dresses really need no explanation, they’ve been around forever and they are a classic that have infinite styling possibilities. A shirt dress can be worn with everything from a swim suit to over the knee boots, and everything in between.
Going back to trending accessories…. We doubled them up on this simple look. Check out this simple way to rework/restyle a bandana as a bracelet.

Chunky Sweater + Bermudas
Pre-Spring often includes both winter and summer clothing items paired together. Not all of us can rock cut-off shorts that bare our buns; bermudas are a good option for woman of most ages. I know what some of you are thinking, “Bermudas… ewww”. Like anything styled wrong, ewww is right. But I love the idea of something that feels a bit sexy in a causal way, and that’s an oversized off the shoulder sweater to pair back to the shorts. As it warms up keep with the same thought of adding a shirt that gives off a casual sexier vibe like a slinky tank or low cut scoop neck tee. All of these looks can be paired back to flat sandals, wedges or espadrilles.

Any button down paired back to any and all of your favorite style jeans is always a good idea. This simple combination gives endless shoe and jewelry options. Trendy to classic, you can’t go wrong with this look.

Denim Skirt Reboot
The denim skirt is back! Rock it as easily and as often as you wear your favorite jeans. I particularly love this high-waisted knee length version by, surprise, McGuire. This skirt is perfect for girls with curves. Simply tuck in your favorite top, grab your go-to leather jacket and any shoes, and you’re ready for anything. Speaking of shoes…. These Free People fringe lace-up wedges are amazing!
