10 Bermuda Shorts Looks to Try this Summer
A Scared Stylist’s Attempt at Wearing Shorts
I don’t know about you but short shorts scare me to death….. First, I’m too old and second, well let’s face it we’re not all built for them. Whether it’s in our mind or a simple fact, short shorts are NOT for everybody. So that being said, what about Bermuda shorts? Every summer I say I’ll wear shorts and I don’t. I own exactly two pairs of shorts, one pair of vintage Levis cut-offs that aren’t quite long enough to be called Bermudas, and a black pair of lined shorts also not quite Bermudas either. I want to wear them but every time I hesitate.
I don’t think I’m alone in my hesitation and fear so I decided I needed a little inspiration in this area. I’m sharing it with you, just in case you’re in the same boat.
From jean cutoffs to casual chic, and edgy to evening I tried to find something for just about all fashion lovers that hesitate to rock shorts. Bermudas are the answer… Maybe.
DENIM CUTOFFS
As far as I’m concerned I’m cutting my own bermuda shorts. I can not even explain how many pairs of jeans I have, I’m sure I’m not alone… These three looks are so cute and easy to recreate. Most of us have all these items in a closet already. Remember, restyling is key.

CASUAL or EDGY
I think I can really get behind the idea of black, knee length shorts. They can be a great summer substitute for a maxi skirt or black skinnies regardless of if your style is street chic or totally edgy.

BAGGY DRAWSTRING with a BLAZER
If Jenna Lyons is doing it so can we! One of the many reasons I love to watch bloggers and other fashion indy girls style is the way the blogging world has taken the idea of casual & dressy, off duty and on duty and turned it’s on it’s styling head. So cool to mix and match opposing styles to get something fresh.

PLAY DRESS UP
Why not? Add a pair of great heel to beautifully cut bottoms and you’ll always have a great look even in bermudas.
