Can you believe we’re talking mom jeans as the new IT jean?! It’s true, there is nothing new in fashion, mom jeans just proves with the right styling on the right girl anything can be cool. Now the question is, how do you know if mom jeans are right for you? That’s actually easier than you think. If you like boyfriend jeans and high-waisted jeans of any kind than mom jeans are in your fashion future.

One of the reasons I’m loving this trend is that it’s flattering on most bodies, especially mine. I’m curvy with a small waist and this trend simply flatters. Let’s be real for a moment, just about any jeans with the right top and cool shoes works. Styling is about finding the best way to make your clothing work for your figure. You know I’m always going on and on about fit and proportion, this trend is just another way to play with proportions.

This current denim trend can be worn with everything from your favorite tee & sneakers to a silk blouse and heels. Go ahead and try this trend, REALLY! Topshop has really nailed a great modern version of the mom jean (as seen on one of the Jenner girls below-btw I should know which one she is but I don’t care), Levi’s has brought back the original 501’s which is a very cool alternative, and last but not least the vintage option. Have fun with fashion, style and trends. Remember great style doesn’t have to cost a lot of money.
