Velvet Crush
We’re all crushing on velvet. From dresses and outerwear to chockers and shoes, there’s a way for everyone to try this oh so smooth, luxe texture this fall. It doesn’t matter if you’re going all in on a major statement piece, like a dress or a coat, or you’re feeling a bit more subtle in an accessory, be bold and try velvet this fall.
Texture is a great way to give your wardrobe a modern update without changing your overall style. If you’re unsure about stepping out of your confort zone with something like velvet, not to worry; there are so many great accessories from chockers (which are everywhere), handbags, and of course my personal favorite shoes! Also, if you’re ever unsure of a trend don’t invest too much in the piece you purchase.
There are two simple tips I have for this season’s texture du jour; first, when dealing with a “trendy” fabric find a piece that has a classic shape and/or go vintage on this one. Velvet comes and goes in and out of style which makes resale boutiques and vintage shops the perfect place to find this season’s “it” texture.
