Body Con Midi : What We Wear
with Editor Natalie Dickens
This year we decided to give our audience a closer glimpse into each of our own personal style (starting with me, thanks Rachael) and a little more behind the scenes of what makes OC STYLE REPORT possible. We’re lucky to work in fashion; we have a bit more leeway with what’s constitutes appropriate work attire. So when we have a collaborative lunch meeting, we can have a little more fun with what we wear.
I’ve always had the challenge of being both petite and curvy, so not everything works for my body. I find that more fitted and tailored clothing work best on my shape, but I still have to be careful with that as well-you curvy girls know what I’m talking about.
I love a good body con dress, especially this olive green midi, when I saw it I had to have it.. but they can be tricky. I’ve found that a great way to simultaneously play up your curves in a body con, without over doing it, is by adding another layer, like a jacket. Also, make sure if you’re rocking a body con that you’re not showing off too much skin. A good rule I go by is the tighter the clothes, the less skin you show. This will give your look balance. We never want to cross the line and look, shall I say skanky. But my absolute favorite part of this look is my shoes (of course..)! I can’t stop wearing these snake skin mules.. I’m kinda obsessed. We all know a great outfit isn’t complete without a great pair of shoes.
