Our Favorite Pieces to Keep Wearing in 2017

What We’re Keeping in our Closets for 2017

2017 has begun, and here at Style Report we’ve been thinking about what to keep and what to purge in the new year. The funny thing is, most of 2016’s trends are moving forward into this year. So, if you are like most of us and picked up a few of last season’s trends, you’re in luck. Trends are a funny thing, they’re meant to get you to buy more than you really need. Not this year! Be picky. Buy Quality. Be Organized.

One thing you’ll notice that all of these trend pieces have in common is that they’re solid neutral colors, or maybe a simple stripe. Keeping you’re trend items neutral will allow them to have a longer life in your style rotation.

Bell Sleeves

Bell sleeves came on the scene during pre-fall 2016 and if you’re like us, you decided you needed this statement sleeve in your life. You’re in luck, because this trend will be even bigger in 2017.

Culottes

Oh culottes…. These have been on the radar of fashion lovers for a few years. It’s time to get on board with this style. Culottes are going to be front and center in both spring and pre-fall 2017.

Vintage High Waisted Levi’s

Vintage or vintage inspired levi’s give your look a instant cool girl vibe. Try to find a vintage pair. Instead of going to the easiest place to get a pair of jeans, make it a treasure hunt. This will feed your shopping itch while saving you money, and the end result will be a cool vibe and a good shopping story.

Cropped Flares

If you didn’t invest in cropped flares last year and you want a pair but you’re unsure, make your own. Take a pair of older flares that you haven’t been wearing and cut them off. This is a great DIY project that will take just a few minutes.

Block heels

I love shoes! I know I’m not the only one. This is why all the hottest pant/denim trends come to our ankles. Of course that’s the perfect hem to show off our shoes. For those of you who invested in block heels, mules, slides, flats or a combination you’re in luck. Low heels are IT in 2017.
