How to Wear Metallic Casually
Some of us have gone out on a limb and purchased metallic & sequinned statement pieces for a special occasion, and now have no idea how to style it in a casual way. You’re not alone. I’ve done this too! I have a gold sequinned top that took me awhile to figure out how to wear it with my jeans. Once I figured it out I was hooked on the idea of casual, everyday metallics. Jeans and tee shirts, ironically, are great options to pair back with those statement metallics. Sneakers, booties, sweater shirts, and bomber jackets are also great, everyday basics to style with metallic pieces.
TRY NEW STYLES….. I know it’s a little scary leaving the house with butterflies in your stomach thinking, “why am I doing this to myself?”. But when you get your first compliment about how cool our outfit is, you’ll get hooked on trying something new. I will say I have a bit of a uniform; I love my jeans and tees but again, these are great essentails to pair with statement pieces. If you’re intimidated by new styles, pair it back with a piece or pieces that are within your comfort zone. For me it’s pairing statement pieces with my jeans.
Accessories are a great option when it comes to trying a new style, like metallics and sequins. A shoe or handbag somehow seems less intimidating to most. Again, find inspiration wherever you can. Here, you’re favorite bloggers, you’re fashionable friends-Let yourself be the fashionable friend! Be the trendsetter in the group. Remember, styling is a skill; the more you practice the better and more comfortable you’ll get at trying new styles.
